My name is Kat and I set up PilatesWise in 2012.
I’ve been practicing Pilates for approx. 17 years, way before it became as hugely popular as it is now. Over the years, pilates has helped me eliminate low back pain, improve my posture and build my strength from deep within, overcoming 2 difficult pregnancies and many years sitting at a desk. It has helped repair and rebalance my body building my stamina, endurance and strength and now I would never be without my regular practice.
I am a Body Control Pilates trained teacher. In 2012 I trained at the Body Control Pilates centre in London and am a Level 3 matwork certified teacher. I am currently undertaking level 4, the highest certification. Body Control Pilates is widely seen as a benchmark for safe and effective mat and machine teaching worldwide and of the highest quality.
I enjoy running, swimming and various other sports and Pilates compliments my training hugely keeping me injury free, flexible and well-balanced.
I am interested in the biomechanics of movement as well as training and practicing the classical pilates repertoire on both the mat and equipment, so offer a well rounded level of knowledge and experience as a teacher, from the classical repertoire to more prescribed bespoke movements. As such, these classes provide a high standard of bespoke group matwork tuition. All sessions are planned and taught according to the bodies in front of me and what is needed and will be helpful to those individuals.
I also offer private, duet and small group Pilates classes to Horsham, Southwater, Billinghurst and the surrounding area. If you have a group of friends and prefer not to travel, I can come to your house and bring all the mats and equipment with me, so do get in touch if you prefer the idea of a small private group class.
I have trained and teach using various pieces of small equipment, and am currently undertaking my reformer training aswell at Level 4 certification.
I spent over a year and a half training intensively to the high standards Body Control Pilates insist upon and am proud to hold their Matwork Certification. I am a member of the Body Control Pilates Association and Register of Exercise Professionals at level 3, have a valid CPR certificate and am fully insured. I’m lucky enough to have been taught and inspired by some of the most experienced teachers during my training and on-going development including Lynne Robinson, Miranda Bass, Carmela Trappa, Ton Vogt, Julie Driver, Benjamin Degenhardt and more. I attend regular courses and workshops provided by teachers from across the world.

I continue my personal development and practice with weekly sessions with someone I consider to be my mentor and is a master teacher trainer, and this ensures I stay well in tune with my own body and continue to develop all the time.
My vision is simple, I took a very wise step when I started practicing Pilates. I am strong, fit, flexible and pain free and undertake numerous sports without injury. I feel it can greatly benefit everyone. I want to inspire and encourage others to become wise to Pilates, and come and join my classes. You won’t look back!
